Alright... now that we have (successfully??) completed the first Season of the WTL, and there is some sort of interest in a second season, so let's explore that. I do want to try a different format, and allow ppl to sign up teams themselves. here are some of the new ideas: 1) Pick your own teams: If desired, a clan can sign up a team, or you can talk amongst your friends and get a few players from 2 or 3 different clans. 2) 3v3 or 6v6?? I have stated this before, and am going to stick to it until I am proven wrong, but I am not convinced 1.33 has the ability to 6 ppl to play against 6 other ppl at a given time and place. I kno this has a few exceptions, but I want to explore the idea of doing a 3v3 league. So, you may sign up a team with 4 players, and play 3 at one time and have 1 extra for a sub/alternate if needed. 3) Scheduling: The same maps will be used for this league as well, except I think some DM will be played for a lil extra variety. It will not be weighed the same as the OBJ matches, but afterall, this is an OBJ league, but i think one or two DMs would be a fun idea I have not yet decided what maps the DM will be played on; i know everyone thinks you can only play dm on base for some reason, but I think that might change. I also have not yet decided the style. OLTL or set lives... im not sure, and also... how many matches must be won to win the game... idk yet. 4) Match days: PICK 'EM YOURSELF! obviously its so hard to accomodate everyone, and it really did neglect some ppl, so i say let the teams figure this out. Admins' jobs = did the two teams play, yes or no? teams' jobs = schedule and play the match. basically here, one team contacts another, finds a time and day to play, play the match, and make sure they have a ref. this is simple and can be done on forums. watch! team 1 - wanna play monday at 9pm est? team 2 - 9pm est is good, but how about weds? team 1 - ok sure see you then team 2 - gg! heres the deal tho: you need to communi-fucking-cate. in theory, it shouldn't be that difficult. and thats why i want to try a 3v3 league, so its not like you need to get a hold of a slew of ppl just to play an hour of wolf. Soooooooooooooo all in all, yeah, i wanna try this method out. the deal is this however: if the match is not played by that sunday (week's start on monday and end on sunday, EST times) the match is called a forfeit. Both teams take it as a loss, and no points either way. IMO, it takes two to tango, so if its not done, both teams get nothing. So far, thats all I got. Lemme know what ppl think.

sounds good,
but maybe with the idea of the captains able to pick time and days, that the 6 v6 will be more successful,
but yah sounds good

i think this may cause less aggavation for the admins by having the captians pick teams and arrange war dates, but it may cause things to be a little more chaotic, we will see how things turn out but i like that idea.
two things i wanna point out. 1) i do not think admins of the league should play, granted it does suck for the ones who put effort in. however if they do choose to play then i believe there should be a system of checks and balances; for instance have a couple of trustful admins, and the activity of the admins can be monitored by the team captians, this will prevent any favoritism amongst players, and avoid previous situations 2) Admins schedule who the teams play against, but the teams arrange WHEN.

yea i like the dm idea as for the maps go willie has some dm maps (stranded and hotel) and motel is also a decent dm map
and for season 2 for obj maybe have more custom maps i get bored of playing the same maps over and over again we could do maps like axis complex (cant think of any more off the top of my head)
u know wat also might be fun in the middle of a season have like the 6 teams group together in 2 teams (teams should be grouped evenly by wins and loses) each with so there would be 18 players on both teams and we play a big map like marketgarden or breakout (if u havent played breakout before its a amazing duel obj map, duel meaning like depot)

alrighty. Weezy - yes, that is what i intended, but didnt really explain clearly. the admins will make a schedule of teams that play each other (wk1 Ta vs Tb, Tc vs Td etc.) but the teams pick the time and date to play, as long as it is played in that week. And as for admins... I am looking to get some others to help, one knows who he is, and we have discussed it. Shocker - 6v6 are fun and the traditional way seen by 1.33 players, but mind you, it also requires a lot more work and organization. Letting the teams pick their own teams, and making them smaller takes care of many issues: getting ppl there on time, contacting people, strats, etc. Just from seeing a lot of the teams winding up using ringers frequently last season, i would rather play it with ppl that are in the league. Everyone complained or was unsatisfied with the ringer rule, so this way, less ppl on a team + easier to contact your own friends = running smoother. if the 3v3 works out fine, then we will see what can be done for a 6v6 in the future. Pump - custom's or ok... but some are just retarded. I've played axis complex, and still think it sucks (or atleast looks like an ET map, hence forth, it already blows ) but maps like keeping frostbite, and maybe adding kung fu grip and ufo are worth it. But duel obj i think are stupid. the only good reason for them is to rack up hs and kills for hours on end. Competition wise... useless. Also, i know that people would rather just play than DL breakout, pburg amongst others, unless they already play 1.41. But we'll see what the people want Other things I've been thinking about is how many people for each team, how many teams will play, and what times team will play at. I know that many teams from the US can play on weekday nites, but for the Aus and Euros, this may pose a problem. Also, there will need to be a system outlining who has signed up for what time slot, so no two teams play at the same time. Team size is also a concern; I stated before that I would prefer a 3v3 league, but would 4 or 5 ppl be reasonable to fill out a roster. The teams are made up on their own, therefore, i would expect all the teams would have fairly easy means of getting in touch with one another. Still gonna wait on that.

- I like the idea of the two teams picking the match date (within the defined week)
-3 vs 3 seems ok to me, although i would actually push for 4 vs 4. thats just me.
-ringers....bad idea.
-customs should be used in some respects, but most of them are absolute garbage. SOme may look nice but unless they play well they are very pretty pieces of crap. for xlabs i demoed 30 custom maps to narrow down a rotation, so if you are looking for some obscure suggestions for newish maps, i can help. I wouldnt suggest using any of my DM maps. they were made long before I knew what I was doing. I do have two maps in the works that are centered around 3 vs 3 teams, so perhaps they could be of some help.

the captains should choose members for their team that are trust worthy and will make match when the captain says the match is. captains have to be selective in who they pick..

Dear Shocker,
i believe you are missing a very simple point....
YOU PICK YOUR OWN TEAM!!!!!!
henceforth, i dont care who the captain is. Basically the captain is the one that talks to the other team about setting up times for matches and getting bitched at by me when matches dont get done. For all I care, every member can be a team captain, as long as they have the brain cells to get things done, idc. If you are looking to have a special title or a cool lil hat for this league... dont look forward to it, cuz I'm really not going to make that much trouble in getting things going.
I hope this cleared anything up about captains, and maybe got the very small erection in shocker's groin region to go down.
Sincerely,
X <3

hmmmm alot of the ideas sound good....i think 4v4 would b better then 3v3, and NO ringers i know it will be bullshit when u play with 3v4 but o well....personally i think ringers can b a good thing but alot of the time they can b a bad thing cuz u could just get on aim and get the best player n wolf 2 come join.......newayz i like the DM i think it rocks, i would like 2 c the majority of it DM but thats ur choice, like the pick ur own team, and choose ur own times. and pumps idea of that big match when the teams get 2gether I LIKE THAT!!!! but get a good map ive never played marketgarden so idk wat it is like. but alot of stuff sounds good

the only possibility of a 4v4 is a DM week. other than that, 4v4 is.... stupid really. 3v3 is a format for exceptional team work, patience and strateedgy working and staying together as a team. 6v6 is the same thing, but more positions to remember, more ppl to worry about, and more errors in communications.
League will be 3v3, so start getting teams ready in groups of 4 (1 backup). If I feel that 2 backups will be better suited, I'll allow that at a later time. However, I am heading back to work on more final projects and gay crap for college.
